When we become injured physically or mentally, we rely on the currently insured healthcare system and insurance providers, for help, support and resources that will enable us to heal, return to work and become a productive member of our family and the community once again.
Our current Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), the Workplace Safety and Insurance Bureau (WSIB) and other insurance benefit providers have limited resources available through their current funding formula.
Doctors, Psychiatrists, and pills are provided free of charge. However, to talk with someone who will help you resolve the underlying causes of your physical signs, symptoms, syndromes, diseases, and diagnosis, comes at a cost.
Additionally, alternative options such as holistic doctors, naturopaths, and nutritionists, are also not recognized or paid for by OHIP or WSIB.
The support we receive right now from our currently insured healthcare system is limited, narrow-minded and reactionary; with not much, if any focus on prevention. The current reactions, or solutions from healthcare practitioners, are also narrow-minded, focused on prescribing pills to reduce the physical effects of the true underlying injuries.
This current funding formula is costing billions of dollars and is having a damaging effect not only on our front-line workers, but is also having a massive ripple effect, felt throughout the communities we serve and on our entire healthcare system and our healthcare practitioners.
It is time to become results focused and change our collective approach to healthcare.
Our ultimate vision at New Hope Field of Dreams is to direct funding towards solutions that work.
To accomplish this an independent in depth, prospective, observational, and eventual conclusive cohort study, will be conducted to prove that our multi-layered approach does promote the healing and prevention of operational stress injuries.
Getting to the Roots of our injuries and illnesses, is the key to healing.
